Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do with the data I have currently?
Whether you are using Excel, Access or any other FEC compliance or donor management software, CMDI has programmers standing by to help you upload your data seamlessly. We will guarantee that no data is lost in your conversion and we’ll even find ways to improve segmentation, response analysis, and online integration in ways you’ve never had available to you before!
How many users can I have on Crimson?
Because Crimson is maintained on CMDI’s secure R-Cloud, the campaign may have access to unlimited user accounts. The data is maintained on our secure servers that are virtualized in a high availability environment. The Crimson application is hosted on load balanced scalable servers, where data is stored on redundant SAN’s and is replicated between CMDI’s data centers; the primary site being a SAS 70 Type II certified facility, so your data is protected regardless of where and when you log on to Crimson.
Can I export lists to excel?
You can export search results, queries, reports, event RSVP’s, thank you’s, best efforts and exception lists, to excel or other database software systems.
How can Crimson integrate with my website and/or email?
Crimson software “speaks” with the “API” in your website and email so information collected through either of these is logged directly into your Crimson database. This includes donation information, volunteer tracking data, yard sign, bumper sticker, and event RSVP information.
How can a candidate use Crimson to raise more money?
Crimson is the perfect tool to keep finance directors, fundraising consultants, campaign managers, and candidates all on the same page. Call sheets can be assigned through the system, aggregating all information on the donor and then printed, emailed, or displayed on mobile phone for the candidate to make calls anywhere, anytime. Online integration keeps staff up-to-date on mailed checks versus online contributions and pledged information can be followed in a timely and informed manner. A contribution tracking system follows every contribution so credit is properly logged.
How can I track new lists that I receive and build throughout the campaign?
Crimson has a dynamic flagging system that can be applied to any record, donor and non-donor, which will allow you to build new levels of complexity to your data. You can track any kind of list in Crimson by flagging the records by your specific needs.
What does Crimson offer for direct mail and broadcast email fundraising efforts?
Crimson has the most robust response analysis reporting system available to campaigns. It provides maximum flexibility and contribution tracking so you can continue to raise more and more money by segmenting and tailoring your fundraising lists to those most likely to give, and give again. Mail date, mail quantity, cage date, response quantity and percentage, dollars raised gross, net, and per piece is logged, allowing you a daily/monthly/yearly return on investment analysis.
How do I look for my records?
Searches are data-driven by several different approaches. You can look for data in people records, money records, batch records, and reports. Crimson has built-in dynamic search functions, allowing you to look for data fields that starts with, matches exactly, ends with, contains, are empty, are not empty, is in a list of, and is not in a list of characters. This allows for fully flexible searches of your data. Contributions are also entered by source code and (if applicable) event code. This will give you clear picture of when, where, and how your donations came from so you know how to go about raising more money again and again.
